Our Process
A Devon Rex is happiest when surrounded by love....they are not happy to be all alone and desire to "help" you in all of your daily activities...be it making sure you are showering correctly, eating everything on your plate, or perhaps need a hand (errr, paw) in making your bed. They can do well as a friend for children who have been raised to respectfully handle them. Cat friendly dogs will find Devons are more than willing to cuddle with them. Our preference is to place our babies in homes with cat friendly animals or we highly encourage you to consider adopting two kittens if possible (whether littermates or a second kitty from your local rescue or another breeder).

We believe in transparency and developing a relationship with our future Fernweh family. Your kitten is our baby first and thus a lifelong commitment for both us and you. Devon Rex kittens from reputable breeders are rarely available immediately and it is common to have to wait for several months or maybe a year or more for your perfect kitten, and we understand that is difficult. But oh, are they worth the wait! Just like people, cats have different personalities, and we strive to find your perfect match. Our kittens are never offered to our waiting families at birth as they will be under evaluation...but we post to Instagram for you to follow along :)
Our Devon Rex and Somali kittens are currently $2500. Once a kitten is offered to you and you commit to them, we require a non-refundable deposit of $500. The remaining balance is due at pickup.
Our kittens come with a two-year congenital health guarantee and CFA Registration papers. Parents are genetically tested through Optimal Selections.
Timeline
We are a small cattery with only a few planned litters a year. After reaching out to you when your perfect match is available, we will be in contact with you both via email and text/phone. Your kitten will receive dewormings as needed, three sets of kitten vaccinations (including Rabies), come microchipped, and will be neutered/spayed prior to arranging to arrive in his/her new home. This typically puts kittens ready to leave our nest around 16 weeks of age, but is dependent upon the readiness of your kitten. We do not ship our cats but are happy to arrange an in cabin pet nanny if you are unable to fly into Charlotte yourself. If you live in our vicinity we can also meet you halfway. Another fun option is to meet at a cat show in your area :) The safety of the kittens comes first and we will communicate with you to determine the best option for all involved.
